A truly fantastic and one of a kind piece. Constructed entirely of solid teak, no veneer here! The lower credenza portion features a large open cabinet that is accessible from each side via sliding glass doors as well as an enclosed cabinet that is accessible from each side. The three drawers are only accessible from one side. The top of the base portion is accented with a lighter colored wood inlay at the joints on the edges. The removable upper bookshelf portion is a unique geometric design. This piece has been completely restored and is in excellent condition.
This piece came from the personal residence of architect Richard Leitch in the hills of Altadena that he designed in 1954. Its unknown if it was a piece originally designed for the house or if it was a later addition. Given that this piece is one of a kind and was likely built by hand it is possible he designed and built it himself.
