A fun decorative art piece by artist George Mullen. Has a very tiki / Inuit feel about it with the simple forms and the bright colors. This likely dates to sometime in the late 70's or early 80's. This was outside so it shows weathering and wear consistent with that. This is one of a number of pieces we acquired directly from the artists estate.
36" long x 33" tall x 10" wide
About the artist; In the early 1960's George P. Mullen arrived in Santa Barbara, California having spent many years studying art and design, and working as in interior designer and artist. With his wife Theresia he set up a small company that produced unique furniture of his own design. In the mid 1970's when the business could no longer compete with large volume manufactures George focused on his art and worked in virtually every medium creating numerous pieces through the early 2000's. He particularly focused on carved wood pieces both large and small.
